Supervisor: Delivery Services

The purpose of this position is to supervise the functioning and performance of delivery services within Unisa Library, to oversee mail administration services, and to ensure that issuing, dispatching, and reproduction services are rendered to the satisfaction of clients.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Library Diploma (Three Year Diploma)
  • Courses relevant to aspects of IR Delivery (e.g. despatch) including supervisory courses.

·         Knowledge and understanding of various technologies e.g. tracking, strapping, interlibrary loans systems, Oasis and workflow.

·         Knowledge and understanding of Library Services philosophy and rules, library delivery model and service Level Agreements with partners, courier etc.

·         Knowledge and understanding of destinations and various types of received items.

·         Knowledge and understanding of all Information Resources Delivery Services process and roles.

·         Knowledge and understanding of despatch methods in order to provide optimal fulfilment of requests.

·         Knowledge and understanding of IR Delivery e.g. packaging principles and rules, copyright regulations.

·         Knowledge and understanding of the principles of team supervision.

·         Knowledge and understanding of process design.

·         Knowledge and understanding of performance management .

·         Knowledge of existing and new library processes.

·         Be able to deal effectively with a wide range of post levels.

·         Be able to communicate effective and take ownership of deadlines.

·         Result orientation- delivery outputs effectively with measurable results.

 

Recommendation:

·         Experience in supervising staff.

·         At least 5 years appropriate experience in a library related work environment.

Assumption of duty:    As soon as possible.

Salary:                         Remuneration is commensurate with the seniority of the position
