User Accounting and Capacity Manager

(Ref: ICT Infra/User Acc & Cap Man/P6/June 11/st-6)

 

The purpose of this position is to:

ü  ensure that the usage of the infrastructure of 3rd party providers is accurately calculated and paid;

ü  implement policies, procedures and operations to prevent the misuse of the communications infrastructure and to propose ways in which the cost of communications can be reduced.

Requirements

·         Relevant three-year Tertiary qualification, preferably in IT

·         Three years technical work experience in communications and capacity management at a managerial level

·         Extensive knowledge and application of Billing and accounting

·         Proficient in English

·         Knowledge of the latest communication technologies and infrastructure trends

·         Knowledge of budget and resource planning

·         Must have strong strategy formulation and negotiation skills

·         Must have good problem-solving skills  with the ability to diffuse conflict

·         Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

 

Recommendations

·         Experience in a Tertiary environment

 

Duties 

·         Develop and implement short, and medium to long-term plans to ensure that user accounting and capacity management meet the goals of the university

·         Monitor and manage the usage of the communications infrastructure to ensure that user accounts are accurate, timeous and properly managed

·         Monitor and manage utilisation of communications infrastructure provided by 3rd parties

·         Monitor and manage the capacity of the communications infrastructure to ensure that it meets existing and future needs

·         Maintain sound human relations with all stakeholders

 

     Assumption of duty : As soon as possible.    

Salary                           : Remuneration is commensurate with the seniority of the position
