ASSISTANT MANAGER: PLANNING

The incumbent will be responsible for the technical planning of all printing, particularly Study material, sent to Production so that it can be produced in the most cost-effective way and with the least possible disruption.

 

Requirements

·         Grade 12 with apprenticeship in any of the recognised trades within the Printing industry National Trade Certificate/TTII

·         1 year National Management Diploma or equivalent

·         At least five years’ planning experience in a similar environment and of which one year is in a supervisory/managerial position

·         Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the printing industry

·         Sound judgement, initiative and perseverance

·         Ability and willingness to work abnormal hours to meet deadlines

·         Communications skills (written and verbal)

·         Arithmetical calculations and technical skills

·         Ability to work fast and accurately

·         Computer literate

 

Duties

·                 Manage people and control activities in the Planning Section

·                 Provide technical guidance and support to clients (external and internal)

·                 Manage information system

·                 Plan and estimate work on the Optimus Cost System

·                 Do costing and pricing of completed jobs on Optimus Cost System

 

 

Assumption of duty      : As soon as possible.

Salary                          : Remuneration is commensurate with the seniority of the position
