HR PRACTITIONER

(Ref: StaffPerm/HRPract/P8/Jun2011/jl-3)

 

 

The purpose of the job is to ensure that competent permanent employees are appointed to support the University in achieving its strategic objectives. This will entail rendering a complete Recruitment and Selection service in terms of permanent staff, both full-time and part-time.

 

Requirements

 

·         A three (3) year Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management with three (3) years’ full-time experience in a Human Resource environment within a large organisation of which at least one (1) year should have been acquired in the Recruitment and Selection of permanent appointments      OR

Grade 12 with seven (7) years’ full-time experience in a Human Resource environment within a large organization of which at least two (2) years should have been acquired in the Recruitment and Selection of permanent appointments

·         Experience in coordinating of Recruitment and Selection processes with respect to the filling of a vacancy (eg advertisements, pre-screening, shortlisting and selection committee processes)

·         Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)

·         Ability to interpret and apply HR-related legislation, policies, procedures and best practice

·         Communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality, work under pressure and meet deadlines as well as the following critical core competencies:

 

ü  Planning and co-ordination

ü  Quality assurance and report writing skills

ü  Good organisational, administrative and time management skills

ü  Must have initiative, integrity, work independently and as part of a team

ü  Be professional, proactive, service-oriented and assertive

 

·         A work-related assessment test may be conducted

 

Recommendation

 

·         Registration with an HR Professional Body

Salary:                         Remuneration is commensurate with the seniority of the position
